Episode 59

In this episode, undergraduate intern Kalise Williams takes Suno AI into territory that music technology has always occupied: the contested ground between creativity and culture, between access and appropriation. Rather than treating Suno as a novelty, Kalise Williams approaches it as a scholar, asking what it means to generate a protest rap in Swahili, a Japanese enka-style song, or a folk ballad rooted in Appalachian oral tradition when you are working from the outside of those traditions.
